Block paving
Classic kerb appeal. Herringbone, stretcher or basket-weave layouts in concrete or clay blocks with a contrasting border.
Resin bound
Seamless, permeable, low-maintenance finish in a wide range of stone colours. Ideal over a sound existing base.
Tarmac
Cost-effective, hard-wearing and quick to lay — the best choice for longer driveways and shared accesses.
How we build a driveway that lasts
The finish gets the photos. The sub-base decides whether it's still flat in ten years' time. Here's our process.

We measure up, talk through materials and drainage, and send a fixed written quote.

Dig-out & sub-base
Old surface lifted and removed. We lay a properly compacted Type 1 sub-base — the bit that decides how long your drive lasts.

Edging & drainage
Haunched concrete kerbs and ACO channels or permeable build-up to meet SUDS rules.

Laying & finishing
Blocks, resin or tarmac laid to fall, cut in neatly around manhole covers, kiln-dried sand brushed in, site left tidy.
Prep is the job
This is one of ours mid-build: dug out, kerbs haunched in, and a red tarmac base course laid ready for the resin-bound wearing surface. It's the bit you never see once the drive's finished — and it's the bit that decides how long it lasts.

How much does a new driveway cost in Shrewsbury?
Most domestic driveways fall between £85 and £150 per square metre depending on material (block paving, resin bound, tarmac), the state of the existing ground, drainage, and kerbing. We give a fixed written quote after a free site visit.
How long does a driveway installation take?
A standard two-car block paving driveway typically takes 5–10 working days from dig-out to final brushing in. Resin bound overlays on a sound base can be completed in 2–3 days.
Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?
In most cases no, provided the surface is permeable or rainwater drains to a permeable area within your property. We design driveways to comply with SUDS guidance so you don't need planning.
Which is better — block paving, resin or tarmac?
Block paving offers the widest choice of colours and patterns and individual blocks can be lifted if you ever need to access services beneath. Resin bound is seamless, permeable and low-maintenance. Tarmac is the most cost-effective for larger areas. We'll talk you through the trade-offs at your quote.
